These Italian masterpieces are very tough though, and I love modifying BU Mira's with double pulleys and selling them to Sailors. This is my third modification, I'm working on two more that should be up for sale soon.
I guess you never know when you might need to repair your sails. If you're in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and your sail rips wouldn't you want to have your own Necchi Bu Mira hidden away below decks.

ReplyDeleteI'll have another for sale in a week. I might even have a "monster wheel" version, good for sewing without power. Stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteAre any of these currently in the works? I am very interested in purchasing one. There is one on ebay currently, and I was wondering if I bought it if you could refurbish it and make the modification? I'm not seeing a way to email you directly as I have on my own blog. Would really like to PM you to discuss.
ReplyDeleteHere's one for sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140713171506
DeleteHi, I live in Oregon and have looking around locally for a good upholstery machine. Do you by chance know the pressure foot lift on this machine?
ReplyDeleteI just inherited my grandmothers Necchi BU Mira. Lots of spare parts, owners manual etc. It's not for sale but I would like some idea of it's value. It is mounted in what I assume is a factory dresser style unit that allows the machine to be tucked away out of sight.
ReplyDeletehello,
